FRAZHA HOMESTAY//SIMEULUE

Location: Simeulue Island is located off the west coast of Sumatera.

Frazha Homestay is located in the small village of Alus Alus, approximately 15 minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from the main town and port of Sinabang.

How to get there? Daily flights available from Medan (North Sumatera) via Wings Air,  or alternatively via ferry from Singkil –  Labuan Haji or Meulaboh (West Aceh).

The homestay is private and serene, set amongst the shade of palm trees and fringed by an empty sandy beach.

Frazha is centrally located so whether you want to explore Simeulue’s numerous stunning natural attractions, surf fantastic waves or simply relax  in an idyllic tropical setting, Frazha’s is the perfect spot.

Surfing: There are many quality waves within easy reach of Frazha homestay.

Out the front of the homestay is a beachbreak which can produce fun empty peaks and also the barreling right hand reef of Alus Alus.

Wongtong is a semi secret lefthander about 15 minutes away. It is a swell magnet.

Dylan’s is perfectly shaped righthand reef break, also about 15 minutes away. The short ride is sweet and makes you hungry for more.

The peak is 45 minutes away and produces great punchy lefts and rights.

Thailand is a nearshore island with a left hand reef break. The waves are fun and would also suit less experienced surfers.

Teabags is a serious barreling right hand reef break, also breaking on a nearshore island. Boats to get to these (and other) islands can be organised through Frazha homestay.

There are also many other spots to explore and surf on Simeulue.

Things to do at Simeulue:

There are numerous natural attractions to be experienced in Simeulue. These include snorkeling, fishing, jungle trekking, waterfalls and traditional ceremonies. All activities and equipment required can be arranged by the homestay including camping trips to the more remote northern side of the island.

Simeulue has some of the best and safest roads in Indonesia. It is a great place to hire a motorbike (which can include surfboard racks) or car and explore the island. These can be organised through Frazha’s at the best rates.

Frazha homestay and facilities:

Frazha is owned and operated by a lovely genuine local family. They are the perfect hosts and can accommodate any requirements.

The accommodation consists of 2 timber cottages with two rooms each and private bathrooms attached. Each cottage has a private deck where you can relax in the hammock and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Frazha has a fully equipped  kitchen available, or alternatively the family will cook whatever the guests desire. There are also several small shops and restaurants nearby.

Internet connection is available using an Indonesian sim card (can be purchased through Frazha’s if required).
